Birds and the Bees
Okay, my oldest child is only six years old and in the first grade. I don't know how much longer we can resist explaining the "Birds and the Bees" from him. Today, he said that a boy in his class tried to kiss him on the lips. What the HELL?!! I am teacher, so I understood when he said the teacher didn't have time to address it because the school day was almost over. However, I hope that she deals with it on tomorrow, but now I am dealing with when is it appropriate to explain about sex. Any suggestions. Looking forward to hearing comments on this one.

We began addressing things with our boys as they began asking questions. For our oldest son that began when he was 4 and I was pregnant with our second child. He was very inquisitive and asked a LOT of questions. For our second child, he asked a lot of questions as he heard my older sons talking. We have always been very open about answer any and all of their questions, but trying to answer only what they ask. They know that we will tell them anything they want to know.
They have asked EVERYTHING and I have had to practice my "poker face" to not look so shocked at some of their questions. Ha!
One of our favorite books that we use to explain things to our boys is, "Lintball Leo's Not So Stupid Questions About Your Body".
