Starting The Year Off Right

Today, I was able to see my good friend, Sandi. We met at Mazzio's for lunch and went to her home afterward - thanks to my begging. Jasmine immediately feel in love with "her new friend." I was able to see the phenomenal job the Chef did as well. Her freezer looked so inviting and organized. The house smelled like my favorite restaurant. I am so jealous. I am working on finding out how I can get him here. I might need to sell some Mary Kay Cosmetics asap! :)

She was so kind to have me and the crew over to her house unannounced. Jeremiah can't stop talking about making potholders. He called my sister and my mother to tell about his new accomplishment. He was so proud. He wants a potholder loom for his birthday and a camera, like "his new friend." Sandi also taught me to knit. I am so proud to say that I know how to use a knitting loom. Sandi is the greatest! She is so sweet! It was so great to be around her and her daughter.

Jasmine begged her way into getting a hairstyler's chair. When we got home, she refused to leave it at the house. She took it in the car with her to Sams Club. When we came back, she wouldn't let "her chair" out of her site. At one point, Jeremiah had a sheet around her neck and a comb. I felt like I was in the Wilson's Barbershop. Next time, I will get photos.

Today was confirmation that things are going to get better. It motivated me to clean up my house to be able to have my friends and family over. As soon as I came from Sams Club - I bought a new heavy duty mop - , I started cleaning. I cleaned the main bathroom door, cabinets, and even the baseboard. Each day I will clean and decorate a room. Stay tuned for an invite. I plan on doing a lot of entertaining and facials at my home. 2009 is my time to shine.

Sandi's response via email
"Wow ... what a sweet blog post about coming to visit us. I tried to leave a comment but it wouldn't let me for some reason.

I thought we were just playing and having a good time, but there was some learning going on! I'm glad Jeremiah enjoyed working on the pot holders so much. He's really good at it, and I bet he'd love to get his own set. The next time you go to Hobby Lobby, you'll have to look for one. They're only $5 or $6, and you can get huge bags of extra loops for pretty cheap, too. After y'all left, Adeline finished the yellow and blue pot holder, and it looks great! I can't wait to give it to Nicole. And when I showed Adeline the attached photo of our next president (I've been talking about him all year, and she's a big Obama supporter too), she sat down and made a red, white and blue pot holder. She wants me to mail it to the White House, and I absolutely plan to. She is big on patterns, and I bet Jeremiah would be too, based on what he's learned in kindergarten and first grade. Adeline said: "It's a simple A-B-C pattern, mama. Red, white, blue. Red, white, blue." The yellow one, of course, was an A-B, A-B pattern, yellow, blue.

And I'm glad I showed you how to knit, too! Cassandra, you will love doing this if you get started. You can make the most beautiful hats and scarves and blankets, and I bet you could make a lot of money doing it. I used to sell them to my co-workers and Mark's co-workers. One lady ordered hats and scarves for herself and her three granddaughters. I made $75 on that one sale. It was great. Once you get started, if you need any help with it call me and I'll walk you through it. It's simple once you get the hang of it.

I'm glad, too, that Jasmine liked the chair so much! I'm glad she wanted it. Adeline never played with it, and would either keep it in a corner somewhere or in the bottom of her toy box. I bet Jasmine was so cute in her little Wilson Family Beauty Shop!

It's a good thing my house was clean yesterday, so y'all could come over. Cassandra, you're welcome to come back anytime. Adeline and I had so much fun while y'all were here. Thank you so much for the wardrobe ideas. I'm going to be looking good in the next few weeks!"
